A Chosen One!

So I check my email the other day and get a fantastic surprise from the New York marathon people: I'm in!

Woo hoo!
Short celebration, though.

I put my name in the lottery early this year under the assumption I would complete the Country Music Marathon in April & have plenty of time to rest & re-train to run New York if I got picked. I also thought I had a snowball's chance in hell of getting picked. Oh, how wrong I was.

As we all know, I injured myself and had to push my debut marathon back and go for Chicago instead. The problem now is that New York & Chicago are only two weeks apart. I have no idea how my body is going to react to one marathon let alone 2 in two weeks!

The cool thing is that I can cancel my entry for this year & have a guaranteed spot for 2007.

NYC 2007.
It has a nice ring to it.
